Since 1999, I am a proud member of this survey team as database manager, designer, and sometime cartographer. I designed a digital inventory system for the EISP, starting with a spreadsheet and paper archives that were populated into an MS Access database that served as a prototype. Since thesis-planning was on my mind, I turned brainstorming into a visual dailies activity. Each idea was expressed with a quick typographic treatment, using a different typeface each day. Then I thought it might be interesting to literally display this process to the public. Current major projects are mapping the interior of Rano Raraku quarry, where majority of the island's monolithic statues are carved and still remain.
