<description>Easter Island Statue Project (EISP), directed by Jo Anne Van Tilburg, is the longest collaborative and evolving artifact inventory ever conducted within the context of the Easter Island archaeological survey. Since 1999, I am a proud member of this survey team as database manager, designer, and sometime cartographer.

I designed a digital inventory system for the EISP, starting with a spreadsheet and paper archives that were populated into an MS Access database that served as a prototype. The system was then converted into an online web application based in Drupal for better sharing of data with global collaborators.

<description>Among our graduate studio coursework was an assignent to do quick dailies of a certain self-determined set of parameters. Since thesis-planning was on my mind, I turned brainstorming into a visual dailies activity. Each idea was expressed with a quick typographic treatment, using a different typeface each day. Then I thought it might be interesting to literally display this process to the public. The resulting set of index card ideas was installed as a public brainstorm/response activity in the gallery exhibition of first year graduate work.

Current major projects are mapping the interior of Rano Raraku quarry, where majority of the island's monolithic statues are carved and still remain. An atlas of the quarry is in production, as well as on-going development of a restricted-access online database for storing and sharing research data between collaborators.
